Dr. Noreen Z. Johnson
My name is Dr. Noreen Johnson, and I, along with my husband, Dr. Haywood Robinson, have had the privilege of serving the Bryan / College Station area since 1981.
I was born in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, and immigrated to the United States in 1970 to pursue an education. I graduated from Howard University College of Medicine in 1977 and had the opportunity to receive specialized training in OB/GYN from MLK / Charles R. Drew Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Haywood and I met in residency, and it was only natural to create a practice in which we’re able to work alongside each other. Family is important to me — and it’s why we enjoy serving in such a vibrant, family-oriented community such as the Brazos Valley.
My heart still beats for my birth place, so we’ve always found ways to stay involved in Trinidad and Tobago. In 2002, I founded the medical ministry, Touch Tobago, which gives our team the chance to provide a variety of medical services to the underserved island of Tobago. I perform gynecologic laparoscopic surgery (a technique I was first to deliver in the region), gynecologic services (addressing issues like infertility), while Haywood and other team physicians offer primary care services, minor surgery and emergency care. We even offer dietary counseling for those interested, which further promotes our desire to equip and empower individuals with preventative care and a healthy approach to wellness.
For the past 15 years, I’ve limited my practice to gynecology, with an emphasis on minimally invasive surgery using the DaVinci robot. I’ve enjoyed the deep relationships with my patients, so as they’ve grown older with my practice, my attention has also turned to anti-aging techniques. One such technique, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, has proven time and time again to allieviate symptoms of menopause and restore function to women still wanting to live active lifestyles.
I’m committed to academics and medicine, and hold an appointment as a clinical assistant professor with the Texas A&M Health Science Center, where I also serve on the admissions committee for the medical school.
Other organizations which I’m involved with include the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American Association of Pro-Life OB/GYNs, and the Christian Medical and Dental Association.
It’s my desire to see people living and loving life — and I want to help you stay active, stay healthy and stay happy. Give us a call anytime, and we can set up an appointment to learn more about the ways I and the Brazos Medical Associates family can partner with you for your healthcare needs.
